Northfield Historical Society (NHS) is giving you the opportunity to become the proud of owner of a handsome, handmade quilt.
The quilt is available at Northfield Historical Society Museum Store, 408 Division. The raffle will extend through October 15.
Joan Christensen of Mankato, mother of NHS Treasurer Jim Christensen and a longtime quilter, has donated the quilt to NHS. The pattern was inspired by a family garden on the family homestead in North Dakota. She completed the quilt in 2006.
“We are delighted by this gracious donation to the historical society,” said Hayes Scriven, executive director of NHS. “Quilts are a wonderful medium for story-telling. Funds raised from this event will help support the many exhibits we have planned for next year.”
The quilt will be displayed in the museum store for the duration of the raffle. People are invited to stop and take a look. Tickets are $2 or six for $10.
