Join the Northfield Historical Society Tuesday, June 14, at Loon Liquors (1325 Armstrong Road in Northfield) to learn about Minnesota’s connection to some of the nation’s most notorious gangsters. Sarah Hanson, executive director of the White Bear Lake Historical Society, will discuss the likes of John Dillinger, George “Bugs” Moran, “Ma” Barker and her boys, Alvin “Creepy” Karpis, “Baby Face” Nelson, “Machine Gun” Kelly, and “Pretty Boy” Floyd.
The event — which is part of the new, more informal NHS History Happy Hour program — will begin with a social at 5:30 p.m. followed by the program at 6.
Loon Liquors will offer a free sample of its new Wheaton Barley Vodka during the event (before the product is available in stores later this month). In addition, the craft distillery will offer its regular line-up of mixed drinks and food for purchase.
