This year NHS is celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary. For the next 40 weeks we will unveil 40 interesting Northfield history facts. All of them were pulled for the Northfield News. “After a period of severe river pollution that depleted the fish population, the Cannon River began to make comeback around the 1970s. In 1973, Northfield resident Earl Baldwin reeled in a fifteen pound Northern pike – one of the largest fish ever caught from the Cannon.”
