4th of July Celebration!

Plan to attend Northfield's Sesquicentennial 4th of July Celebration. Coupled with the All-School Reunion, this year promises to be a weekend you'll want to spend in town.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! This is a GREAT event to be a part of - Call Mark Fagerwick at the Historical Society, 645-9268, or e-mail him.

Saturday, July 2
10 a.m.-5 p.m. – Old time train rides from Northfield Foundry
11 a.m. – Food booths open in the Square
12 p.m. – local bands begin playing on the Square
3 p.m. – Bank Raid Re-enactments on Division
3:30 p.m. – Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra concert
4:30 p.m. – Military plane flyover
7-10 p.m. – "Steve Jennings All-Star Band"
8:30 p.m. – The Human Cannonball shot out of a cannon over the Cannon

Sunday, July 3

10 a.m. – Ecumenical Service at Laird Stadium (Carleton College)
11 a.m. – All-town/All-School Reunion photo at Laird Stadium – the more the merrier!
12 p.m – 150-foot Subway Sandwich at Laird Stadium and Food Booths reopen on the Square
12-7 p.m. – Train Rides from the Foundry
1 p.m – Sundowners
2 p.m. – Local bands
5 p.m. – The Human Cannonball
5:30-7 p.m. – "Trailer Trash" band
8-10 p.m. – Johny Western/Marilyn Sellars reunion concert at Middle School (tickets available soon at Historical Society)
10 p.m. – FIREWORKS!!!

Monday, July 4
8 a.m. – Annual bike race downtown
9 a.m. – Flea Market opens in Ames Park
10 a.m. – Free guided tours at Historical Society
11:30 a.m. – Yankee Doodle Kids Bike Parade set-up at Econofoods parking lot
12 p.m. – Yankee Doodle Kids Bike Parade down Division. Yankee Doodle Carnival opens in parking lot by downtown Post Office
12:30 p.m. – The Keane Sense of Rhythm Dancers
1:45 p.m – "The Zillionaires" band
3 p.m. – "String Fever" band
4:15 p.m – Music TBD
5 p.m. – Renee Austin sings National Anthem, Colors are presented, followed by Patriotic Readings from back of Wellstone Bus
5:30-7 p.m. – Dancing in the Square with Renee Austin and her band
