The Northfield Historical Society is looking for volunteers who want to build a bridge from their personal life to their civic life, and have fun in the process.

Not only do we maintain the historic Scriver Building, Northfield's archives and one of our nation's premiere old west historic sites, but we're also very active in the Northfield Community.

We have partnerships with other organizations, businesses, the public schools and the colleges. We host significant Northfield events including the Hometown 4th of July Celebration on Bridge Square (where, incidentally, we're shooting a man out of a cannon this year). We are the epicenter of the Defeat of Jesse James Days celebration that brings thousands of people to downtown Northfield.

And it's not unusual for us to think up and put on something completely different, JUST BECAUSE (last month we booked a band at the Grand, opened it to the public, and had a no-cover, full-house appreciation event for our members and Chuck Pryor and his Grand staff to show our appreciation for all they do.

If this sounds like an organization you'd like to link your name to - JOIN US. Contact Mark Fagerwick and let him know you want to get involved. We've got committees with open slots and oftentimes just need an extra hand or two.

We'll try to post upcoming meetings on this web set with contact information - so come back often and JOIN THE FUN!
