May 16 – Museum Mingle, 6:30 pm at NHS
Historian TJ Malaskee will speak on the history of Minnesota’s milling industry, drawing parallels to Northfield’s Ames Mill. He will also talk about the Grange movement and the rise of Grange mills in agriculturally-based communities.
June 13 – Popcorn Party on Bridge Square, 6 pm
In honor of it’s 100th anniversary, historian Susan Hvistendahl will share the colorful history of Northfield’s beloved Popcorn Wagon. Fifty North will be dishing out the popcorn and as part of the program, there will even be a popcorn sing-along! The party will take place on Bridge Square just prior to the Community Band concert. We encourage you to bring a lawn chair or blanket, have some popcorn, and stick around for the band’s performance.
June 27 – Cannon River Photo Exhibit
As the Cannon River Wastershed Partnership debuts the traveling exhibit, ‘We Are Water,’ in Northfield, NHS will host a special two-week photo exhibit showcasing images from the collection featuring the Cannon River.
