National History Day Students

The Northfield Historical Society would like to congratulate Camille Koosmann and Tian Saltzman, from SW Minneapolis on their 5th place finish at the State tournament for the National History Day Competition. The theme this year was Triumph and Tragedy. The students develop a board that chronicled the 1876 attempted bank raid by the James-Younger Gang. For the display they visited with local historian and middle school teacher Earl Weinmann and local author John J. Koblas. In addition, they used many of our primary artifacts in the museum. There display will be in our museum until the end of the month and then again in September during the Defeat of Jesse James Days.
