Defeat of Jesse James Day was number 2 on TRUEWEST magazine's list of Top 10 Western Events in the Nation. This list is published in the March 2006 issue of TRUEWEST.

This is what the magazine had to say about DJJD.

2. Defeat of Jesse James Days

Okay, they use the Jesse James name to attract visitors and attention. But this event in Northfield, Minnesota, is a real tribute to the defenders who successfully battled the James-Youngers in September 1876. So it's not surprising that re-enactments are an important part of the Days—as well as a memorial service at the graves of the citizens killed during the holdup attempt. Western movie stars of the past also make an appearance. A rodeo offers another Old West element, and other events—arts and crafts, a tractor pull, carnival, etc.—give it the feel of a traditional county fair. Loads of fun and historical important. SEPT 8-10.

Congrats to everyone involved in DJJD and lets make this years event even better so we can take over the number 1 spot! Watch out "Western Legends Roundup!"
