History of Scriver Building

Last term at Carleton College a film student, Anna Wada, produced a short video documentary on the Scriver Building for her CAMS 270 class.  The video contains selected stories about the Scriver Building's origins, occupants, and history as the site of the famous James-Younger Gang bank raid of 1876.  Enjoy!

Outlaw Run 2009!

The 2009 Outlaw Run was a  HUGE success!  Thank you everyone that came out and rode in support of the Northfield Historical Society and our youth programs.  Also, a  huge THANK YOU to everyone that came out and  volunteered, you all did a great job!  We had a lot of fun and I think everyone learned a little something about the history of Northfield.

Below is a slide show of photos from this year's ride.  Big thank you to Bridgette Hallcock and Jessica Green for taking 270 pictures!  You can also go to Locally Grown for 70+ photos that Griff Wigley took.  Here is a link to the Northfield News' photos and video.  You can also see the video I tweeted when the bikes left town.

Just for fun, here are the photos from the 2008 Outlaw Run!

Outlaw Run Saturday!

If you haven't already heard the Outlaw Run is this Saturday!  Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. on Bridge Square.  You can get register and get more information at the Outlaw Run website.

The big news today is that we have added a raffle to this year's event!  We will be raffling off a Minnesota Wild Hockey stick signed by Josh Harding, James Shepard and Brad Bombadier!  We will also be raffling off a   Minnesota Vikings helmet signed by the one and only Cris Carter!  Along the route we will also be giving away Minnesota Twins tickets, Minnesota Renaissance Festival tickets, and passes to go see the Bodies Exhibit at the Mall of America!  There are many more prizes, you will just have to sign up and ride the Outlaw Trail with the rest of us to find out what they are!

See you Saturday on the trail!
