Annual Meeting/New Board members

thomfordeoldmain.jpgOn March 4 NHS held it's 31st Annual Meeting at the Northfield Golf Club. 70+ members and friends of the Society attended. St. Olaf College President Christopher Thomforde (left) keynoted the event, bringing us up to speed on the College's state of affairs. Shortly afterward, Vice President of the Board, Scott Elmer, accepted the office of NHS president. Additionally, several leaders in the community were nominated and added to our Board by unanimous vote.

They were:
Debby Larsen (has held leadership positions with Sertoma, Sesquicentennial, Ruth's House of Hope and DJJD, to name a few), Gail Jones (communications whiz and editor of our Scriver Scribbler), Michelle Millinaker (board member of Dundas Historical Society, B&B owner and professional psychologist in downtown Northfield's Central Block), and Dan Freeman (Mr. Northfield - leadership positions throughout the community for decades including co-chair of Northfield Sesquicentennial committee). Ray Coudret was unanimously appointed to fill a recently vacated term (two years remaining). Ray has been treasurer of the Nfld Education Association, an advisor and coach of students and a math teacher at the Nfld High School. He's also a former Sr. Posse member at the Historical Society. Earl Weinmann was re-appointed to the board for a second 3-year term.

Debby Larsen was elected Secretary and Pat Murtha re-elected treasurer.

Ashley Wentworth was recognized as Student Volunteer of the Year and Mary Zoe Scott as Volunteer of the Year.

Krin Finger, Bob Kuyper and Mary Rossing were recognized for their completed terms on the Board (Rob Schanilec was recognized for the same. He stepped down as president and will remain as past president in an ex-officio capacity). Mary Rossing was also recognized for her over-the-top dedication as a two-term board member, two-term president, and for her unwavering leadership.
